THE EASY CLOSET
THINGS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT
These pieces will make your life easier time and time again, and in days you feel like “I have nothing to wear”, throw them on with your favorite pair of shoes and you are good to go!!!
A PERFECT PAIR OF JEANS
It should be perfect for you, fit you well, and make you feel great and comfortable regardless of style. I most definitely don’t follow trends when it comes to jeans, I always pick the ones that make me feel good and fit my body well.
Many cotton t-shirts and tank tops
I can never have enough… they don’t have to cost a fortune only to look good on you and remember the keyword: cotton!!!
They are one of the most important key pieces every woman should have. They will literally go with everything from jeans to skirts, dress them up, dress them down, nice accessories and you are ready to go!
I looove the look t-shirt and jeans, heels, a jacket, and I’m out the door!!!!
A FAVORITE BLACK JACKET
Whatever it is you can spend on one, if you love it, you will wear it time and time again. -So totally worth it!! If you have a more classic style, that might be a black blazer, if you are casual like me, a cool leather jacket. If you can splurge totally go for the famous classic Chanel jacket, and if not there are many similar styles out there for every budget.
LITTLE BLACK DRESS
I confess, I have a few that I love and just throw on whenever I’m in a hurry and don’t know what to wear. But you should have AT LEAST ONE that is really a no-brainer: black, cute, fits you great, rocks your body and you can be out the door in minutes.
Here are four of my favorite versions:
On the left a simple classic black Herve Leger that I have used countless times. On the right, a very versatile version: I can go from work wearing a jacket over it to a night out without the jacket, plus the one shoulder look is coming up fast and strong!
Here are two opposite styles, depending on your mood: a very romantic, more classic dress by Carol Bassi and on the right an edgy, sexier one that mixes up leather and cotton by BCBGMaxAzria.
A FEW INCREDIBLE PIECES THAT MAKE YOU LOOK FANTASTIC AND ARE TIMELESS
In my case I love dresses, so other than my favorite LBD’s, I have a few more that I splurge on and wear on many different occasions. They are no-brainers, I put them on and can be out the door feeling great in minutes.
If you love pants than you should have at least a couple of perfectly tailored ones with your favorite tops ready to go.
ONE CLASSIC SIMPLE WHITE SHIRT
It will take you pretty much anywhere, and go with everything, from a pair of jeans to a leather skirt. You can dress it up or down depending on where you have to go. Mine is from Target, I got it years ago and I wore it a million times!
This one is silk if you prefer a more sofisticated fabric. It can be just as versatile as a cotton shirt and dressed in a classic way or like a did here, with a sexy bralette underneath and a few open buttons.
They are simple, stylish, warm, look great, and are sooo easy to wear. I get a bunch just before Christmas when they go on sale and they last for a few years. I always throw them around my shoulder, have them in my car, travel with them because they are the coziest things in the world. (And of course, stylish too ??)
This is one of the most useful classic investments you can have in your closet: a basic black trenchcoat. It is my travel uniform: jeans, t-shirt, flats (a cashmere sweater in my purse) and my trenchcoat; I stay warm during the flight and arrive looking stylish! Mine is by Burberry.
These are great and incredibly comfortable if you are not wearing heels, and perfect for traveling. Mine are Chanel (yes classic investment) but they last several years, and I wear them a lot!
THINGS THAT ARE TOTALLY WORTH SPLURGING ON
You will wear them again and again forever and they will make you look fabulous for any occasion.
When I say FANTASTIC I mean it, and yes, many times it translates into expensive shoes, but believe me, they make ALL the difference!!!
A perfect pair of heels will make a simple jeans and t-shirt look amazing, just like ugly, old, outdated shoes can ruin your outfit.
Don’t feel overwhelmed thinking you need to have a collection of incredible shoes overnight… but it does pay off getting one at a time because you will wear them so much, years and years to come.
If you need to start somewhere, go for an incredible pair of black or nude heels: they will go with ANYTHING!!
Just like with shoes, the purses you carry around make ALL the difference for your look. Are they a big investment? Yes, for sure, but again, you will have a fabulous purse forever and wear it time and time again.
You will ALWAYS look more polished and stylish with a great handbag, no matter what you are wearing!
Again, you do not need to have a collection of several purses overnight, but just like with your shoes, this is about QUALITY: you are always better off having one designer bag that you love than a closet full of bags that do not look as great.
A SPECIAL SOMETHING THAT YOU WILL HAVE AND LOVE FOREVER
In my case it is a Chanel jacket; I’ve had mine for over 10 years and I wear it so much it was completely worth it.
THINGS THAT ARE NEVER WORTH SPENDING TONS OF MONEY ON
They will come and go really fast, so the smart idea is to find them at affordable prices to constantly update our looks without breaking the bank!
We will always update you on what they are on our homepage and try to have ideas on how to get the latest styles at great prices.
These images illustrate exactly what I have in my mind when I talk about mixing up splurges and affordable trends:
The pencil skirt is from H&M, the velvet top, a MAJOR FALL TREND I got at Target for about 18 bucks! My splurges that make this outfit special are as always the accessories: great Louboutin heels (which as I said, I wear over and over again) and my vintage Chanel belt that I’ve had forever and use on numerous different looks.
Here I actually use a vintage Chanel skirt (which was my splurge years ago) with a trending corset top I got for a bargain @express and ultra affordable lace up sandals @shutz
